Torqsense transducers used for performance testing of valve actuators
Sensor Technology
Torqsense transducers
Rotork Controls uses Torqsense transducers from Sensor Technology for the performance testing of its valve actuators, which are used in applications within power generation, water and sewage, industrial processes, subsea, marine, HVAC, incinerators and cement plants.
Sensor Technology supplies Rotork Controls with its Torqsense transducers for the performance testing of its valve actuators, which are built around motorised gearboxes.
Rotork, manufactures a range of electric, pneumatic and hydraulic valve actuators and control systems, valve gearboxes and valve accessories, which can be used under extremes of temperature. Due to the high cost of downtime, testing to ensure reliability is highly important.
The non-contact transducers operate using surface acoustic wave principles — an alternating current passed across the terminals produces surface waves that are then converted into an electric signal by a receiving array.
Key benefits of product application
- As the sensor can provide digital and analogue outputs, one output can be used to verify the other.
- Additionally, each output can be used to perform a separate test.
