Maxim Integrated Products
MAX14821 IO-Link physical-layer (PHY) transceiver
The MAX14821 IO-Link physical-layer (PHY) transceiver from Maxim Integrated Products is suitable for for point-to-point communication between industrial master control modules and sensors and actuators, as well as 24V binary sensor/actuator applications.
The unit is available in either a 2.5mm x 2.5mm WLP or 4mm x 4mm 24-pin TQFN package, and can support all specified IO-Link data rates — 4.8kbps (COM1), 38.4kbps (COM2), and 230.4kbps (COM3).
In order to interface with a wide range of sensors, the C/Q line driver can be configured for a push-pull, low-side or high-side output stage.
The PHY transceiver also includes a 12MHz SPI interface for controlling and monitoring that can be configured with alarms and fault detection.
