Barcode reader from IDC enables conveyors to be started and stopped independently

ZB111 barcode reader
IDC has extended its Zigbee wireless system with the ZB111 barcode reader, which, with integrated keypad and screen, enables individual conveyors to be managed independently, with high levels of safety compliance.
Designed to be a low-cost wireless network with minimal power requirements, Zigbee connects to PLCs using standard Modbus TCP/IP protocol and to PCs via a standard OPC connection.
The mechanics of IDC’s system involve each conveyor drive motor being fitted with a simple barcode, which once scanned enables the ZB111 to show the drive details on its integrated LCD display.
A maintenance engineer confirms details using the keypad and selects maintenance mode, after which they are able to stop and start the conveyor drive independently to perform maintenance.
