Wireless unit from Omniflex suitable for remote pump stop-and-start applications

Teleterm M2R wireless units
Omniflex has developed Teleterm M2R wireless units to pick up existing instrumentation signals and transmit them across the plant, or to connect remote areas of a plant to each other.
With distances up to 10km line-of-sight covered by a standard stubby antenna, the company claims the Teleterm M2R provides an easy-to-use wireless network extension for existing cabled installations, and provides a cost-effective control system for remote pump stop-and-start applications.
Due to being based on licence-free bands, and using FHSS (frequency hopping and spread spectrum) technology, the Teleterm M2R is immune to other radio devices, and can be integrated into cable-based networks by using the on-board standard Modbus port.
It allows multiple channels to share the same frequency, and its low power restricts the RF influence to localised areas of the plant.
