IDT's PLL supports Sync Ethernet and IEEE 1588 applications in cloud-based networking
IDT
Integrated Device Technology has expanded its timing portfolio with the IDT82V3391 WAN PLL, which supports Synchronous Ethernet (Sync Ethernet) and IEEE 1588 applications in cloud-based networking and 4G wireless infrastructure, as well as offering legacy support for SDH, Sonet and T1/E1 clock rates.
The integrated, single-chip PLL supports a range of protocols, allowing system designers to use a single PLL device for a range of applications.
In addition, the device is capable of synchronising to a one pulse-per-second (PPS) input signal while simultaneously providing a 1PPS output — a feature that is said to have become popular with 4G and LTE technologies.
