Sercos III automation bus
The Sercos III automation bus from Lattice Semiconductor can be used in real-time industrial Ethernet networking applications for interconnecting motion controls, drives, input/output, sensors and actuators.
The LatticeECP3 FPGA-enabled Ethernet evaluation kit includes two boards (FPGA module and base board), and an optional expansion module.
The FPGA module can be integrated into Sercos III slave devices, and consists of a LatticeECP3-35 FPGA, 8MB Flash and 8MB DRAM. It is supported by the Automata Sercos III slave communication stack and test tools, including a master simulator suitable for Windows XP.
Additionally, the base board — which is supplied with 24VDC or 5VDC — features 16DI and 16DO, all with status LEDs, an RS232 interface, switches and a standardised bi-colour Sercos III diagnostic LED.
