Programming the multi-axis control systems for robots has traditionally been a complex and laborious task. Robots can be programmed using teach-and-learn methods, but these require a lot of fine tuning to achieve the perfect path. Delcam’s Powermill Robot allows users to program robots with external axes as easily as they can program a five-axis NC machine. Accurate 3D simulation shows exactly how the robot will behave.

Delcam has released the 2015 version of its FeatureCAM feature-based CAM system with a range of enhancements in three-axis milling, two-axis and five-axis drilling, turning and turn-milling and wire EDM to make the software even more powerful and easier to use.
Delcam will be supporting CNC Robotics in its promotion of machining with robots using the PowerMILL Robot programming system on stand G37 at the Interplas exhibition, which is due to be held at the NEC in Birmingham from 30 September to 2 October.
Delcam will highlight the latest developments for high-speed and five-axis machining in the 2015 version of its PowerMILL CAM system at two half-day seminars at Matsuura’s European headquarters in Coalville, Leicestershire, on 14 October.
At the W14 exhibition in Birmingham, Delcam will demonstrate the latest version of its ArtCAM Pro design and manufacturing software for artistic woodworking applications and its FeatureCAM feature-based programming system for production machining.
Delcam has released an update of its Powerinspect inspection software that has an interface with new icons that are said to make the software more intuitive and even easier to use. Other enhancements in the version include the ability to create compound items and so speed up and simplify repetitive measurements, improvements to the measurement dialogues and a further increase in the range of geometric features that can be inspected.
