Programming the multi-axis control systems for robots has traditionally been a complex and laborious task. Robots can be programmed using teach-and-learn methods, but these require a lot of fine tuning to achieve the perfect path. Delcam’s Powermill Robot allows users to program robots with external axes as easily as they can program a five-axis NC machine. Accurate 3D simulation shows exactly how the robot will behave.

The 2015 R2 release of Delcam’s PowerINSPECT inspection software is designed to make it easier to complete the fast and accurate inspection of complex assemblies. The new version includes more options for the automation of inspection sequences, including automated probe changes, automatic feature extraction for point-cloud batch inspection and greater control over collision checking.
Delcam CRISPIN is set to run its second Footwear Technology Forum at the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan on 14–15 October this year.
The results of the PRECIOUS project on the use of additive manufacturing in the jewellery industry will be presented at a dissemination event to be held on 20 August as part of the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of the Birmingham School of Jewellery.
