‘Induction heating of steel pipe’
Engineering and design consultancy Atkins applies and delivers technical excellence across the lifecycle of oil and gas facilities. However, its office in Aberdeen encountered a problem on an oil pipeline when two adjacent copper tubes carrying de-ionised water were energised with alternative currents. IDAC was contracted to evaluate the induced current density and the Joule heating in the pipe using Ansys Emag simulation.

This document presents Dynamics for SpaceClaim: a fully integrated add-in that extends the functionality of SpaceClaim with motion dynamics for multibody systems with joints and frictional contacts.
ANSYS SpaceClaim Direct Modeler software brings 3D solid modelling to the desktops of analysts who work in a 3D world but do not want to become experts in traditional, feature-based CAD systems.
This presentation from IDAC provides an introduction to parametric optimisation and robustness evaluation with optiSLang, a CAE software platform developed by Dynardo.
A 75-minute webinar on 5 and 12 June will introduce the capabilities of ANSYS Workbench. This structural mechanics FEA simulation software, which is available from Integrated Design and Analysis Consultants (IDAC), works in tandem with mechanical CAD software.
IDAC’s optiSLang product is described as one of the best software tools for CAE-based optimisation and CAE-based stochastic analysis.
