Databases from Knovel give users access to a range of authoritative engineering information
Knovel
Critical Content databases
Knovel, a provider of web-based applications integrating technical information with analytical and search tools, has added a series of material databases to its Critical Content line to provide access to authoritative engineering data.
The company sources validated content from more than 90 publishing partners, including engineering societies and associations.
The first two databases are now available: the magnesium alloy database covers properties of magnesium alloys that are of particular interest to automotive and aerospace customers; and the optical and filter glass database compiles the properties of commercial optical and filter glasses from manufacturers around the world.
According to Knovel, its databases help engineers to make critical decisions more effectively, including: informing material selection in design for aerospace, automotive, industrial and electronic equipment; streamlining decision making in process design; completing initial analyses on materials after equipment failure; and developing safety guidelines for laboratories or process plants around chemicals.
