Gen2i data recorder features compact dimensions

HBM GmbH

Gen2i data recorder

HBM has developed the latest Gen2i data recorder for maintaining, servicing and commissioning industrial devices.

The Gen2i, which has compact dimensions and is said to be simple to operate, is available with four, eight or 16 input channels.

The palette of input amplifiers ranges from insulated types with 200kS/s per channel via bridge and IEPE modules up to fast racks with 100MS/s that are suitable for fault tracing in electric systems or transient data acquisition during ballistic tests.

The measurement data can be written directly onto the integrated semiconductor hard drive (solid-state disk) at up to 20Mb/s or temporarily stored at far higher rates in the RAM of the measuring cards.

The modular measurement data and transient data-acquisition software is based on Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system.

The Gen2i comes with the standard version of HBM's Perception software to provide a dual operating concept.

In mobile applications, the Gen2i can be operated solely by using the integrated high-resolution 17in (43cm) touch screen.

Simple menus enable device settings directly via buttons on the screen, providing access to functions such as measurement start/stop, sampling rate or channel settings.

Using this interface, conventional measuring instruments can be operated by less skilled users, according to the company.

In stationary applications, the user interface can utilise all aspects of the Perception software and a mouse and keyboard can be connected.

This mode makes all software features available to the user and allows, where needed, optional software modules such as channel mathematic or FFT analysis to be installed and used.
