Signalling equipment targets safety applications
Pfannenberg
Signalling equipment
Pfannenberg has introduced visual and audible signalling equipment that conforms to the new EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, which came into force on 1 January 2010.
The directive brings new mandatory safety standards and introduces new harmonised EN ISO 13849-1 and DIN IEC 62061 standards that replace and update the previous EN 954-1 standard.
The range of audible and visual warning devices, which in general are self-monitoring and self-testing, includes units that meet the different requirements for various safety levels defined in the directive.
They range from simple devices for standalone safety applications up to devices with complex functionality for more demanding safety environments.
The products enable the machine manufacturer to have the complete machine certified more easily and in a shorter time.
The machine constructor will benefit from improved safety planning from the initial design stage onwards.
