Radisys develops platform with industry consortium
Radisys
Platform for industrial automation
Radisys and Embedded4you have developed a multi-core turnkey platform for industrial automation, which will be demonstrated at the SPS/IPC/Drives exhibition.
The demonstration showcases the integration of general purpose Microsoft Windows and Radisys' Microware OS-9 real-time operating system running concurrently on a Radisys COM Express module.
This hybrid approach allows individual systems to merge onto a single platform to reduce hardware cost, reuse available software and improve system performance.
The multi-core demo implements Embedded4you member Real Time Systems' Hypervisor to support Windows and OS-9 running concurrently on the Intel Core Duo processor.
The Hypervisor partitions the general purpose and real-time environments, allowing each operating system to run in a trusted environment.
This allows OS-9 to guarantee high real-time reliability, stability and system response time with zero impact on other applications running on the system.
