Sustainable jet fuel producer selects Intertek as quailty and inspection services provider
Intertek
SkyNRG, a producer of sustainable biofuels for jets, has selected Intertek to inspect and conduct quality tests on its fuels.
Intertek is now helping SkyNRG to develop a robust fuel quality assurance programme, to ensure that SkyNRG’s sustainable jet fuel is as reliable and safe as traditional petroleum Jet A1 fuel.
Intertek’s testing and inspection services will be provided at points across the world and includes testing of the 100 per cent pure sustainable jet fuel component along with the final 50 per cent blend with petroleum jet fuel used for commercial flights.
Key benefits of product application
- Amendments to the ASTM D-7566 specification for synthetic turbine fuel have made jet flights using biofuel possible.
- SkyNRG claimed Intertek played a vital role in the quality control of the fuel used in the first sustainable bio jet fuel flights.
- The companies plan to work together again in the future.
