Jaguar provides access to Lean Learning Academy
The Manufacturing Institute
Lean Learning Academy
Jaguar Land Rover is offering manufacturers access to the Lean Learning Academy at the Halewood centre of excellence.
The Lean Learning Academy teaches leadership skills to supervisors and managers at Jaguar Land Rover.
The programme lasts two weeks and covers a variety of lean principles through a mixture of classroom-based teaching, practical tasks and experience of working on the production line.
It offers the opportunity to work in the Jaguar Land Rover plant - home to the Jaguar X-Type and Land Rover Freelander 2 - and gain first-hand experience of lean best practice in a real working environment.
The academy is open to managers and team leaders committed to continuous improvement.
Participants will learn how to deploy lean tools to eliminate waste and continuously improve manufacturing processes.
In another joint educational venture, the Manufacturing Institute and Jaguar Land Rover are offering a Lean Immersion Day for senior managers eager to lead successful lean-improvement programmes.
Companies can send a team of up to 12 people to the introductory session.
They will hear about Jaguar Land Rover's lean journey and experience first-hand how lean is being implemented at the plant - witnessing such techniques as policy deployment, standard operating procedures, problem solving and concern escalation, visual management, line balancing and error proofing.
