Omniflex provides alarms for NYSE trading centre
Omniflex
Alarm systems
Alarm systems from Omniflex are allowing the New York Stock Exchange's (NYSE's) new Euronext data centre in Balilson, Essex, to 'keep on trading' with a return on investment within minutes.
The trading centre, which came online in 2010, demands very low downtime with a low mean time to repair (less than half an hour to repair and be back online).
The NYSE needed a reliable alarm reporting system to monitor critical alarms on the computer room air-conditioning units and electrical distribution systems.
Omniflex was contracted to provide six off-distributed alarm systems networked back to the central control room, where grouped alarms were then displayed on an Omniflex HMI display.
Using the Omniflex SIL1 annunciator systems with the Omniflex Easyview HMI, alarms are displayed both locally and remotely, giving the operators and engineers the information first hand when they need it.
