OS32C safety laser scanner
Omron Scientific Technologies’ OS32C laser scanner for machinery safety applications is now available with selectable 30, 40, 50 and 70mm resolutions.
The OS32C is suitable for point-of-entry hand-detection applications and other cases where safety light curtains are not appropriate.
Version 1.4.2 of the OS32C enables users to copy and paste zones and zone sets, offers record system monitoring and playback and features configuration checksum functionality.
Other updates include an improved standby mode and the ability to invert the seven-segment display in applications where the scanner must be mounted upside down.

• Features a 104.5mm profile, weighs 1.3kg and consumes 5W of power (3.75W in standby mode).
• Provides integrated management via Ethernet.
• 270º detection angle provides presence detection on two sides of a machine.
• ‘Faster and easier’ equipment commissioning and troubleshooting with patented individual sector indicators.
• ‘Up to four times faster’ MTTR compared with competitor scanners.
• Up to 70 zone-set combinations can be set, each with one safety zone of up to 3m and two warning zones of up to 10m.
• Can be tailored to individual applications by specifying whether the power and Ethernet connections are on the back or left side of the scanner.
• Users can configure the safety and warning zones with the OS32C’s configuration software and a PC.
