Micromech offers high precision tripod for Alio's XY cross roller stage

Alio’s PKM XY Tripod system
Now available from Micromech, Alio’s PKM XY Tripod system is designed to replace Hexapod in a variety of applications with three-, four-, five- and six-axis motion needs.
The tripod, mounted to Alio’s XY cross roller stage, is claimed to be more precise than all other mechanical bearing stages, as well as competitors’ air bearing stages.
Micromech claims the PKM delivers True Nano performance in all six degrees of freedom.
It utilises counterbalanced Airex linear motors, which not only have great positioning performance but can also accommodate large payloads.
