Diamond-plated foundry grinding products

Dia-Forz
Superabrasives specialist Engis has introduced the Dia-Forz diamond-plated grinding wheels for foundry applications.
These wheels offer three main advantages over conventional resin-bonded abrasive wheels: they increase safety, because the wheel body will not fail, break or come apart due to abuse or over-speeding; they provide a more efficient cutting action - resulting in better ergonomics and lower fatigue; and they last for longer.
With Dia-Forz wheels, no dressing is required, as the grits are more fully exposed than in conventional wheels; and, because the wheel does not wear in the same way as a conventional wheel, there is no loss of form or peripheral speed, and less dust is generated.
As diamond stays sharper for longer and cuts faster, less force is required to remove the imperfections on the casting, leading to enhanced productivity and ergonomics.
As an added benefit, Dia-Forz wheels can be re-plated with new and fresh diamond abrasive, making it an environmentally friendly product, as there is less, if any, waste to dispose of.
The Dia-Forz range is available in a number of standard-size wheels and burrs for robotic and hand-grinding.

Product brochure: Macromelt low-pressure overmoulding process from Techsil download
Techsil has launched Henkel’s Macromelt in the UK. Macromelt is a low-pressure overmoulding process using hotmelt adhesives. It is designed to provide excellent sealing, provide better protection of electrical/electronic components and achieve higher productivity compared with materials currently used in sealing processes, such as two-component casting/potting resins or silicones. With a cycle time of less than one minute and no need for a separate housing, using Macromelt also decreases ...
