Pick-and-place machinery from Mydata helps Triumph Group to expand its SMT capabilities
Mydata Automation
Synergy machines
A range of Synergy machines from Mydata has helped Triumph Group, a developer and manufacturer of all-electric actuation and motion control systems, to expand SMT capabilities at its manufacturing plant in Flintshire, UK.
The new Synergy line — installed alongside the company’s existing Mydata MY12 pick-and-place unit — comprises two MY100LX10 pick-and-place machines, one of which is equipped with a 15,000cph Hydra head and one with a 6,600cph Midas head.
According to Mydata, the machines, which are from the MY100 range, are arranged in a Synergy configuration with the new line-mode option, which means it is unnecessary to split programs across the two units.
Key benefits of product application
- The machines are equipped with an automatic component test facility that checks the values of the components prior to placement; this is intended to maximise the quality of the boards produced while minimising the need for reworking.
- By upgrading the software on its existing MY12 machine to the latest version, Triumph has ensured that the machines achieve their full potential.
- Mydata’s unlimited training packages enable the company to send as many staff — as often as it wants — to open training courses on the pick-and-place machinery.
