Citizen Machinery printers supplied to logistics provider for network project
Citizen Machinery
CLP-7202e and CL-S700 thermal printers
CLP-7202e and CL-S700 thermal printers from Citizen Machinery have been supplied to Dachser — a logistics provider — for use throughout its European operations.
Dachser’s ’Wholly Integrated Network’ project — part of the company’s drive to develop identification, communication and management systems — defines the company’s quality standards and enables it to optimise processes and homogenise computer equipment.
In order to meet demands, a dedicated IT infrastructure needed to be set up using common applications, software tools and equipment (such as printers) across its sites.
When initial tests were successful the company decided to standardise on Citizen Printers, and sites in France were equipped with CLP-7202e models. These have since been replaced by the more recent CL-S700 printers. Installation is expected to take place at Portuguese and North African sites.
The thermal printers are mainly placed at sites’ shipping docks — where transport labels are needed — in mobile workstations the protect the computer, as well as being connected to the computer and the network.
