Harting adds management functions to Fast Track Switching technology
Harting
Fast Track Switching
Harting has improved its Ethernet-based Fast Track Switching technology with the introduction of a range of management functions, covering determinism, availability, redundancy, reliability and diagnosis.
The Fast Track Switching method is designed to recognise, prioritise and speed up those frames that are particularly important for the user in the specific application, ensuring that important data reaches their destination on time, regardless of remaining network load.
Setting the switch up to identify certain characteristics allows it to recognise important frames, which are then accelerated by way of the cut-through method, allowing them to overtake other frames blocking their path.
The Fast Track Switching range includes three new products: Ha-Vis FTS 3100-A, equipped with 10 RJ45 ports; Ha-Vis FTS 3082-ASFP, equipped with eight RJ45 ports and two SFP slots; and Ha-Vis FTS 3060-A, with six RJ45 ports incorporated into a slim design.
Key specifications
- Switches offer redundancy, VLAN and DHCP capability
- Integrated Profinet I/O stack allows devices to be used and integrated as Conformance Class B equipment in the Profinet area
- Ethernet/IP applications supported with IGMP snooping and DHCP Option 82
- Management functions enable a wide range of applications to be implemented
