ITT releases Micro-D filter connector suitable for use in harsh, space-limited environments

TMDMP filter connector
ITT Electronic Components has developed a robust Micro-D connector that is said to provide the density required to accommodate the ferrite tubes necessary for Pi filtering in military and aerospace applications.
Designated the TMDMP filter, the connector is suitable for integrated avionics and electronic warfare, satellites and space systems, radar and sensors, weapon controls and targeting systems.
Unlike conventional C-type filters, the Pi filter design utilises two capacitors around a ferrite inductor, providing a better attenuation curve, according to Keith Teichmann, director of product management for ITT Electronic Components.
The lightweight filter connector is suitable for use in harsh environments, particularly those with space constraints.

- The TMDMP filter connector is available in five sizes, with contacts for both sockets (receptacles) and pins (plugs)
- It is completely intermateable with MIL-DTL-83513
- Capacitance values include H, L, M and T
