Powervar

Security Plus Series

Powervar has expanded its family of power-quality solutions with the addition of the Security Plus Series: a 2.0kVA to 6.0kVA isolated, online double-conversion UPS system.

The Security Plus Series is designed to provide optimum system reliability and protection against the power outages, surges and noise associated with dirty electrical power.

The range features a surge diverter, a noise filter and a low-impedance isolation transformer to guarantee fully conditioned isolated power, whether operating on the utility supply or on battery.

Product features include user hot-swappable batteries, casters, full front-panel controls and indicators and RS232 and USB communications interfaces for use with Powervar's remote monitoring software.

All systems meet FCC Class A requirements and are RoHS compliant.

The Security Plus Series also provides: a 0.9 output power factor; inrush capabilities; a low-input THDi; an IGBT converter and inverter; and a three-year product warranty.

Chris Walsh, director of marketing for Powervar, said: 'Today's customers demand power-quality solutions that will support their dynamic loads while protecting their infrastructure from all power-related problems.

'Powervar's new Security Plus Series delivers this desired solution by providing a fully power-conditioned uninterruptible source of power,' he added.

Powervar, headquartered in Waukegan, Illinois, is a provider of power management systems.

The ISO 9001:2000-registered company also has international sales and distribution offices in Swindon, UK, and in Paderborn, Germany.

It provides power conditioning and uninterruptible power supplies for the high-technology, mission-critical instrumentation and equipment used in laboratories, hospitals, retail stores, data centres and industrial applications.

The company's primary products include transformer-based power conditioners and uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs).
