Purex introduces Fumecube fume extractor

The Fumecube offers a variety of functions, including remote control and machine communication interface.

Dust and fumes from soldering, gluing, chemical handling and other applications can, if inhaled, be hazardous to health and can cause illnesses such as occupational asthma, rhinitis, headaches and nausea.

Regulations such as COSHH, NIOSH, OSHA and others stipulate that it is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that workers are protected from hazardous substances such as solder fume, laser smoke, chemical vapour and many others.

There are also many environmental issues raised if fumes such as these are pumped outside into the air.

The Fumecube is a compact, quiet and portable fume extraction system that can be connected to either one or two flexible extraction arms.

The arms can be attached to a bench using clamp brackets and the integrated airflow valve supplied.

The Fumecube is precision made from stainless steel and features a blower to draw contaminated fumes away from the workers' breathing zone; the fumes are then passed through a three-stage filter system that removes contaminants and returns filtered air to the workplace.

It features fully automatic flow control and quick-change filters plus remote on/off and machining interfacing options.
