Indicator controls exposure to hazardous fumes
Flextraction
Air flow indicator
Flextraction has launched a small size electronic airflow indicator for use on all LEV (local exhaust ventilation) hoods.
The indicators can be used at any LEV point on the extraction hose where it can be be seen by the operator, to ensure that the airflow is adequate to control exposure to industrial dust and fumes, including hazardous and corrosive fumes at the point of source.
These electronic airflow indicators are designed for use in a multitude of industrial applications including surface grinding, welding, product tipping and drum filling, as well as food processing and all manufacturing applications, where dust and fumes are emitted.
A green LED highlights if the airflow is correct while a red LED indicates and incorrect airflow.
An audible alarm gives the operator an extra indication if there is a fall in the airflow velocity.
An indication of system performance is provided from a single LED.
Constant monitoring allows the operator to be protected at all times, while no external buttons or switches means that the unit cannot be interfered with.
Simple calibration and set up using the internal switches can be carried out by Flextraction engineers.
It is powered by four AA batteries giving up to two years of continuous operation and it is easy to install using quick-release push-fit connections supplied with the unit.
