Woodex Bearing Company has been the sole manufacturer and marketing agent for MECO custom-engineered shaft seals since 1984.
Woodex is located on scenic Georgetown Island, on the coast of Maine, under the same ownership since 1980. MECO seals are used worldwide on slow-turning dry powder and bulk processing equipment, including mixers, blenders, conveyors, dryers, bucket elevators, grinders and agitators.
MECO is the original high-runout seal for such equipment and remains the leader in the field.Industries served include chemical, food, pharmaceutical, mineral, plastics, primary metals and pulp & paper. An extensive distributor network provides hands-on support with shaft measurement, installation and rebuilding of MECO seals.
MECO engineers provide telephone consultation and trouble-shooting for sealing problems of all sorts; service engineers are available for on-site visits. MECO seals are available factory-installed on better machinery, as retrofits through its distributor network or directly from Woodex Bearing Company.
An application data webform is available on the MECO website to submit the data required for a free, specific quotation. The Woodex brand of fully-split, shimless oil-impregnated maple plane bearings for screw conveyors, roll conveyors, etc.was first established in 1905 and is still manufactured today
