Master Bond introduces UV curable epoxy adhesive offering high chemical resistance

Master Bond

Master Bond UV16

Formulated for demanding bonding, sealing and coating applications, Master Bond UV16 is claimed to provide good physical strength, high chemical resistance and fast cure rates upon exposure to UV light.

Within one minute or less at room temperature with commercial UV light sources, UV16 will cure in thicknesses up to 0.125in and has a two-to-three per cent shrinkage rate, which Master Bond claims is substantially lower than most free-radical UV adhesives.

Once cured, this one-component, no-mix epoxy delivers a tensile strength exceeding 4,100psi and a Shore D hardness of more than 75.

Post-curing UV16 at 90 to 125°C for 30 minutes gives the adhesive a glass transition temperature of 135°C and enhances its chemical resistance.
