Henkel releases anaerobic adhesives designed to improve health and safety in the workplace
Henkel Loctite Adhesives
Henkel has expanded its health and safety range with three anaerobic adhesive products that are free from hazardous substances.
The three products — Loctite 6300, which is designed for retaining cylindrical assemblies, Loctite 5800, which is suitable for gasketing, and Loctite 5400, which is a thread sealant — are free from declarable carcinogenic, mutagenic and reproductive toxins and therefore meet the European Commission’s 1907/2006 ISO 11014-1 regulations.
As such, the products do not have to be labelled with any hazard symbols or safety phrases.
The high-strength Loctite 6300 has a viscosity of 350mPa and a shear strength of 20N/mm2; the medium-strength Loctite 5800 has a viscosity of 150,000mPa and a shear strength of 12N/mm2; and the medium-strength Loctite 5400 has a viscosity of 27,000mPa and a breakaway torque of 19Nm.
