Adhesives demonstrated as safe for drinking water
Henkel Loctite Adhesives
Loctite 2400 and Loctite 2700
Loctite 2400 and Loctite 2700 threadlocking adhesives from Henkel have been granted WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) approval, allowing them to be used with potable water.
This approval demonstrates that the products do not contaminate the water and therefore satisfies this particular requirement of regulations and bylaws.
This approval is in addition to the existing qualifications for 'white' Material Safety Data Sheets.
This means that according to the tough EC Regulations No 1907/2006 - ISO 11014-1, neither adhesive carries any hazard symbols, risk or safety phrases.
Loctite 2400 is fluorescent blue with a viscosity of 3000 mPa-s and a shear strength on steel of 9N/mm.
The high-strength Loctite 2700 is fluorescent green, has a viscosity of 500mPa-s and a shear strength of 18N/mm.
Once cured, both products offer high resistance against vibration and most industrial chemicals.
They achieve good thermal resistance, withstanding continuous operating temperatures up to 150C.
