RDP provides transducers for harsh environments
RDP Electronics
RDP transducers
RDP Electronics is offering transducers that are claimed to be suitable for the harsh environments often encountered when monitoring the movement of bridge structures, for example.
According to the company, corrosion and higher traffic loads can lead to increased strain in bridge components, such as suspension cable fixing points.
RDP's transducers are moisture resistant or fully welded for submersible applications.
As a result of their stainless-steel construction, these transducers also resist the corrosive effects of winter road treatments for ice and are suitable for use in marine environments.
The transducers have a 4-20mA output for two-wire connection, which provides a relatively cost-effective installation when several points need to be monitored across the bridge structure, allowing fairly long cable lengths to be employed.
Transducers can be supplied with integral signal conditioning or a remote module can be used to provide information to a PC.
