Multifunction analogue inputs join PCI DAQ range

PCI230+ and PCI260+
Expanding on its comprehensive family of PCI data acquisition products, Amplicon has developed two new multifunction analogue input boards.
Expanding on its comprehensive family of PCI data acquisition products, Amplicon has developed two new multifunction analogue input boards.
In addition, valuable feedback from customers has led the company to develop LabView and Linux drivers for its entire range of Amplicon DAQ devices.
The new PCI230+ and PCI260+ boards feature a 16bit A/D convertor that samples at up to 250Ksample/s.
True differential inputs can reduce the signal noise and allow floating signal measurements, and an FPGA allows sampling to be triggered when an analogue threshold is crossed.
Triggering is also possible with by a digital input or counter/timer interrupt, or via software control.
These two products replace earlier versions designed by Amplicon, and can therefore be used in existing applications without the need for software rewrites.
In addition they are now compatible with 3.3V PCI as well as 5V PCI systems.
Amplicon has also created new drivers for LabView, Visual Basic.Net and C#.Net, in addition to C/C++, VB, Delphi and VEE.
Linux drivers, which are in high demand from customers, have also been added, and the company already provides drivers for Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP.
This ensures that the entire range of PCI boards on offer is now compatible with the most popular software environments used by customers.
The new devices are part of the PCI200 series of data acquisition and serial communication boards offered by Amplicon.
The family now includes: the PCI230+ multifunction board with analogue inputs and outputs, digital I/O and counter/timers; the PCI260+ low cost 16-channel analogue input board; the PCI224 16 channel analogue output board with FIFO; the PCI234 board featuring four simultaneous analogue outputs with FIFO for waveform generation; the PCI236 and /272 (24 and or 72 channel) digital I/O boards; the PCI215 48 line digital I/O with two counter/timer board; and the PCI263 16 channel relay board.
Such a complete, comprehensive, family makes these devices an ideal choice for all kinds of PC based data acquisition, on any budget, as almost any application where a PC is required to collect data, output data or simply provide on/off control can be provided for.
Designing and selling its own PCI based data acquisition boards gives Amplicon the advantage of having in house expertise in order to select the best complementary products.
Offering a complete system allows the company to help facilitate system integration and upgrades for its customers.
