Link Microtek offers interference and direction analyser for telecoms and air-traffic control

Link Microtek

IDA-3106 interference and direction analyser

Link Microtek is offering Narda Test Solutions’ IDA-3106 interference and direction analyser (IDA), which is suitable for use in telecoms, broadcasting and air traffic control for identifying and locating sources of transmissions that could affect signal quality.

The hand-held instrument is offered with a choice of three active directional antennas that cover the frequency ranges 20 to 250MHz, 200 to 500MHz and 400MHz to 6GHz.

It features an integral GPS receiver and a 3D electronic compass integrated into the antenna handle, a resolution bandwidth of up to 32MHz and can analyse broadband signals. Additionally, a scan speed of 12GHz/s enables it to pick up intermittent signals or burst transmissions.

The IDA scans horizontally in order to pinpoint the position of the inference source and can either display the bearing as a polar diagram or as a location on a street map.

A number of optional facilities are available such as ’scope mode’ — which offers a time resolution of 32ns for analysing high-speed data transmissions or pulsed signals — and an I/Q demodulation recorder that enables the unit to store signal data and transfer it to a PC.
