Opto Diode offers semiconductor radiation sensors capable of detecting photons
Opto Diode
Opto Diode has introduced the IRD SXUV 100 ultraviolet/extreme ultraviolet (UV/EUV) photodiodes, which, claimed to offer very high radiation hardness, are designed for long-lifetime operation in high-particle-flux environments with no loss of responsiveness.
The IRD SXUV 100 photodiodes have a 10 x 10mm2 active area and a nitrided metal silicide front window, which permits operation without loss of performance in high humidity and other environmental conditions that normally require sealed packages.
Diodes with single active areas are available from 1 to 576mm and quadrant diodes with several central openings may also be specified.
When tested, the IRD SXUV 100 photodiode revealed no observable loss of responsiveness after exposure to billions of 157 and 193nm pulses and exposure to 8W/cm2 of CW 248nm laser irradiance for three weeks.
