Pacer offers series of infrared light sources for gas sensing applications in the mid-IR range

Pacer

Axetris series of infrared sources

Leister Process Technologies’ Axetris series infrared (IR) light sources — available from Pacer — are suitable for gas sensing applications in the mid-IR range, such as capnography, anaesthesia gas monitoring, respiration monitoring, pulmonary function monitoring, breath alcohol measurement, exhaust gas monitoring, demand-controlled ventilation, refrigerant monitoring, combustion gas analysis and gas detection in fluids and incubators.

The micro-machined, electrically modulated thermal infrared emitters are capable of using the measurement principles of non-dispersive infrared spectroscopy, photoacoustic infrared spectroscopy and attenuated-total-reflectance FTIR spectroscopy.

They have a design based on a resistive heating element that is integrated onto a thin dielectric membrane — which is suspended on a micro-machined silicon structure.

According to Pacer, they feature black body radiation characteristics, low power consumption, high emissivity and a long lifetime.
