Alpheus Environmental, a specialist in the treatment of tankered liquid waste, has installed control and measurement equipment from ABB at its facility in Basildon to regulate effluent flows into the receiving sewage treatment works.
The company is required to regulate and monitor the flow rate of the discharged treated effluent and its ammonia level.
Following discussions with ABB, Alpheus invested in a system comprising an ABB Controlmaster universal process controller and a Magmaster flowmeter transmitter unit; this arrangement controls the speed of the outlet flow using an actuator valve.
The equipment has helped the company to improve operations and reduce future costs on site.
