Laser velocimeters for pipe production processes

The LSV-1000 range of velocimeters are compact, robust, all-in-one measurement systems.

The systems are designed for direct replacement of existing contact encoder wheels for precise control of cut-to-length, final length verification or as a total length footage counter.

Velocity ranges from 0.3 up to 6,211m/min.

Long working standoff distance options are available from 200 to 1,500mm.

Repeatability is less than 0.02 per cent of reading.

The sensor integrates easily into process-control systems via the standard encoder pulse output, serial or network interfaces and measure reliably on all types of tube and pipe surfaces, including steel, aluminium copper, rubber and plastic - regardless of colour or texture.

Various standoff distances and speed ranges are available in conjunction with an array of accessories that will enable reliable operation in applications such as extruded tubing, high-precision medical tubing, welded pipe and the extreme environments found in the production of seamless pipe.
