Turck introduces RLC-based linear position sensors for applications with constant motion
Turck
QR14 and Q17 linear position sensors
Turck has expanded its Q-track range of linear position sensors to include the QR14 and Q17 models, which are designed to provide repeatable measurements in applications with space limitations and in harsh environments.
According to the company, its compact linear inductive sensors — based on the RLC resistance inductance capacitance principle — incorporate a durable construction and printed emitter and receiver coil systems.
The emitter coils are activated with a high-frequency AC field and produce an inductive RLC circuit with the positioning element.
The element is inductively coupled with the receiver coils, which are arranged in such a way that different voltages are induced in the coils, depending on the position of the actuator.
Key features
- Q-track sensors deliver maximum measuring spans, with a minimal blind zone and high resistance to EMI/RFI noise interference
- Inductively coupled position element provides non-contact position feedback for applications with constant motion, such as pinch rollers, cylinder position, web tension control and pitch control
- Both current and voltage outputs are included
- IP67-rated housing protects against moisture and dust in demanding environments
