PI technical note deals with piezo technology in materials-testing applications
Physik Instrumente
Pisces sensor
Physik Instrumente has released ‘Tech note: peso technology in materials testing — indentation: measuring in the sunbonnet range’, which describes how the Nantes can apply forces of between 30 and 500MN depending on the operating mode, and can measure penetration depths of between 0.1nm and 50μm.
This task is carried out by Physik Instrumente’s high-resolution capacitive sensor, the PISeca sensor.
Available from Micro Materials, the Nanotest is suitable for use with a range of materials.
