Transducers
RDP supplies specially manufactured transducers that are designed for used in the space and satellite industry.
The transducers are completely sealed and manufactured from low outgassing materials to standards that have been specified by NASA for applications in space.
This avoids the risk of contaminating other components used on space vehicles — such as optical devices — with expelled gases from transducers.
In addition, the outgassing of vapour escaping from internal adhesives and varnishes is reduced by ‘baking’ the device in order to thoroughly dry out these types of materials.
Modifications to the device during the manufacturing process ensure that there are no sealed cavities in which a pressure differential could cause damage.
