Newport introduces optical power meter for fibre-optic component production and testing
Newport
1830-R optical power meter
Newport has introduced an optical power meter suitable for use in fibre-optic component production and testing.
The 1830-R meter — designed as a drop-in replacement for the company’s legacy 1830-C model — displays DC power measurements in units of W, dBm, dB and relative measurement on a bright 4.5-digit annunciated light-emitting diode.
Relative power measurements, in reference to a previously stored value, are performed with the result displayed either as a ratio or dB.
USB2.0 is the standard computer interface, while the 1830-R-GPIB model offers additional IEEE-488 (GPIB) and RS-232C ports.
