Application guide: battery testing download
Batteries are used to ensure that critical electrical equipment is always on. There are so many places where batteries are used — it is nearly impossible to list them all. There are three main reasons to test battery systems: to insure the supported equipment is adequately backed-up; to prevent unexpected failures by tracking the battery’s health; and to forewarn/predict death.
The Phasenlux PIL 8 is a phase identification instrument available from Megger. The Phasenlux PIL 8 eliminates the need to disconnect the short circuiting and earthing circuit.
By using a user-selectable test current from 80A up to 1kA, the Megger NIM 1000 network impedance meter allows users to make accurate loop impedance and fault current measurements on live circuits close to the source of supply, even in large electrical installations such as those found in major hospitals and on big industrial sites.
Megger has launched its VAX020 high-voltage amplifier, with which it is possible to reliably assess insulation condition using proven dynamic frequency response (DFR) techniques, even in extreme high-interference environments such as HVDC substations.
