Jenton to introduce Autotester seal testers

Jenton Autotester seal testers

Hampshire-based Jenton International will launch the Jenton Autotester range of seal testers at Easyfair's Packaging Ireland 2009 on 17-18 June in Dublin.

This continues the company's wholesale redevelopment programme of the Ariana product range, which started with the BCS range of convergers for thermoformed pack matrices.

According to Jenton, during a recent survey of meat factories carried out by Wrap, 11 per cent of meat packs were found to have leaking seals.

The Jenton Autotester tests every pack and rejects only those with leaks.

Seal testing has the potential to reduce waste by eliminating product recalls and, as all packs are tested online, rejected packs can be re-worked, allowing for a reduced loss of product.

The Jenton-Ariana test system subjects each pack to a long test time in order to identify and reject the smallest possible amount of seal defects.

The system is available in various multi-lane and row configurations to suit any standard gas-flush thermoformer where packs contain headspace.

Operator control is via the colour touch-screen display, ensuring minimum setup and downtime, according to the company.

The controlled atmosphere packaging (CAP) of fresh produce has extended the shelf life of many perishable products.

The Jenton Autotester seal tester/converger has been developed as a method of warranting such shelf life by detecting leaking packs at source and allowing product removal and repacking.

Sound packs are converged in to a single lane for following metal detection, check weighing and pricing systems.
