Machine Building Systems has been supplying the Item aluminium profile system exclusively in the UK since 1979, and Elcom flat belt conveyors since 2004.

The Item system enables construction of bespoke assemblies from standard components, saving time and money over conventional welded steel techniques. The vast range of available parts and extrusions means that there is an Item solution for projects from simple work stations and machinery guarding, through to more complicated machine frames, roller conveyors, and linear motion mechanisms.

The Elcom conveyors are manufactured using a combination of standard components and Item extrusions meaning that, like Item belt or ballscrew driven linear slides, bespoke lengths are available as standard. Combining Item and Elcom solutions provides machine builders with the answer for automation projects where supply of parts to and from a machine is necessary.

Maintaining a policy of keeping high stock levels has enabled rapid delivery times to be met, either for a kit of parts, or for an assembled solution.
