INDUSTRIAL MEASUREMENTS LTD, now part of the CRANE ELECTRONICS group, specialises in the design and manufacture of a range of standard and special torque transducers and load cells.
The company offers perhaps the biggest range of torque measuring products in the world and supports production monitoring applications and development testing in the automotive, aerospace, marine, power generation, offshore and general transmission engineering sectors.
IML's versatile non-contacting torque measuring system is particularly suited to arduous environments. Equipment at the shaft is not affected by grease, oil or water and can accommodate relatively large radial and axial shaft movement without affecting system accuracy. The equipment is available as an integral part of proprietary disc or gear couplings and, in clamp-on form, is available for new or retrofit applications up to 1500mm diameter.
Other services include straingauge bonding and in-house calibration of most makes of torque transducer to 28kNm. Measurement applications range from 0.005Nm to several MegaNm.
Around 35% of production consists of 'specials' and about 20% of production is exported, mainly to mainland Europe, but also to Canada, USA , the Middle East and Scandinavia.
