Learnshop seminars set for this year's Maintec exhibition

Easyfairs has announced that there will be around 30 Learnshop seminars during the Maintec 2012 maintenance and asset management show, which runs from 28 February to 1 March at the NEC in Birmingham.

The seminars will feature speakers from a range of brands, who will provide advice on topics such as maintenance, condition monitoring and health and safety.

Learnshop highlights

  • Britvic’s Simon Hatson will provide an insight into how the maintenance of both new and old equipment has been approached within one company in the food and drink industry.
  • Schaeffler UK’s Ian Pledger will discuss how, in today’s economic climate, it is important to introduce an effective condition-monitoring regime that enables engineers to keep their machinery running efficiently.
  • Dr Lee Renforth from High Voltage Partial Discharge will talk about online partial discharge case studies for cables, switchgear, generators, motors and transformers. His presentation will include a summary of the different economic drivers that apply to both public utility and industrial networks.
  • Rosh Engineering’s Ian Dormer will focus on health and safety issues.
  • David Stefanowicz of the Electrical Contractors’ Association will focus on wireless systems, which he says are fast becoming mainstream.
  • Paul Sacker from Crimson Industrial Vision will discuss remote visual inspection. He will talk about the latest advances in minimally invasive inspection using video endoscopes and inspection cameras.
  • Robin Buller of KRR Prostream will talk about how to maintain optimal performance in a power-generating plant.
  • Radio Data’s Brian Back will look at the threat to business facilities posed by pollution and, in particular, firewater.
  • Luke Barnes of Reactec will discuss the dangers of hand-arm vibration across a range of industries in the UK and the prevention measures that companies can undertake in order to protect their workforce from the condition.
  • Dean Whittle of Reliability Maintenance Solutions will look at how the vibration spectrum can indicate fault conditions.
  • Graeme Coyne of Siemens will focus on the value of customer service to a company’s maintenance operations.
  • Keith Bostock of SRO Solutions will look at how asset management software can benefit most maintenance organisations.
