Czech companies to exhibit at Subcon 2009

Czech exhibitors

Six companies from the Czech Republic will be exhibiting at Subcon 2009 on 9-11 June at the NEC in Birmingham.

Five will be exhibiting independently and one will participate on the Czechtrade stand.

Czech engineering products are already used in many European markets.

Kdynium, one exhibitor, is a joint-stock company specialising in investment casting - a process that is said to give high surface quality and dimensional accuracy.

The company can cast parts from a few grams up to around 15kg and is accredited to ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949:2002 standards, including material certificates.

Fines, meanwhile, has been certified to ISO 9001:2000 and AS EN 9100 1997 and offers three types of precision casting.

These include the pressure and gravity die casting of aluminium alloys and investment casting in aluminium, copper and steel alloys with a maximum size of 900mm x 900mm x 900mm.

Fines also manufactures injection moulds and press dies for plastic mouldings and pressure and gravity dies for aluminium and zinc parts, as well as fixtures, jigs and parts produced by five-axis machining.

NTS Prometal Machining, another Czech company, offers CNC milling, turning, sheet-metal work and finishing, including powder coating and assemblies according to customers' design and drawings.

Its main market is in high-variety, low-volume parts, where it claims to offer competitive costs and lead times.

Kornet, which is accredited to ISO 9001:2000, offers a complete service that ranges from sourcing materials, castings, moulds, tools, fixtures and precision CNC parts.

It can also offer formed components, including CNC roll bending.

Finally, it can offer the complete assembly of components, including testing to customers' specifications.

The company uses kanban and lean manufacturing techniques in its production.

Elmet's activities cover electronics, mechanical parts and medical equipment.

In the field of electronics, its main activities are mounting boards, assembly and the production of multimedia devices, power amplifiers, voltage supplies and information panels.

In the metalworking area, it offers a sheet metalworking service using CNC forming machines, laser profiling and punch presses.

If the medical field, its activities include the development of high-frequency pulmonary ventilators and products for laboratory purposes.

The Unitherm foundry offers sand and metal mould casting (gravitational and low pressure) and a number of ancillary operations, such as heat treatment, machining, sub-assembly and surface treatments.

Unitherm can also prepare drawings and produce moulds for customers' components.

The company has certified quality management to EN ISO 9001:2001 and an environmental management system accredited to EN ISO 14001:2005.

Subcon 2009 is intended to give buyers the chance to source all types of subcontract manufacturing services from national and international suppliers.

Services on offer cover machined parts, electronic assemblies, castings, plastic mouldings, metal fabrications, full manufacturing services, design and build and rapid prototyping.

Complementing the range of subcontracting exhibitors is a new added-value feature, the Manufacturing Equipment and Materials Zone, which will present products and services for which buyers of subcontract manufacturing may also have procurement responsibility.
