Cobham arranges electrical and environmental event
ERA Technology
Electrical and environmental conference
Cobham Technical Services, previously Era Technology, has announced that its annual electrical and environmental conference will be held on 17-18 November 2009 in London, UK.
This year, the conference is entitled 'Electrical and Electronic Equipment and the Environment 2009 - Meeting the Technical and Regulatory Challenges' and is scheduled to be held at the Sheraton Skyline Hotel in Heathrow.
According to the company, electrical and electronic equipment manufacturers and distributors are regularly facing changes that will affect their products.
Various regulations with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of electrical and electronic equipment are affecting manufacturers and products.
This conference is intended to allow individuals to liaise and interact with others who are in similar lines of work and who are facing the same hurdles.
The event will also cover the latest progress in regulations regarding electrical and electronic equipment.
Key topics will include: steps forward in the implementation of Reach, including UK progress and enforcement; an RoHS and WEEE enforcement update; an EuP update with an overview of progress of the LOT studies and a review of their status and findings; progress relating to the implementation of the Batteries Directive and an industry perspective on battery compliance in Europe; the impact of worldwide substance restrictions on the electronics industry; hazardous chemicals in Asia; the current stages of US product-related environmental requirements; current EuP case studies; and approaches to WEEE recycling in developing countries.
Case studies from various industries will be used to present examples of how manufacturers and distributors have achieved and managed compliance.
Techamerica Europe (formerly AeA Europe), the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), the European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical and Healthcare IT Industry, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association, Gambica, AFDEC, Intellect, Spectaris and the Korea Environmental Council in Europe are all endorsing the conference.
