Highland Technology releases V420 simulator
Highland Technology
V420 simulator
Highland Technology has introduced its V420 eight-channel VME resistance and RTD simulator.
According to the company, the V420 simulates resistors, RTDs, thermistors, strain gauges and load cells and remains accurate for DC, AC or pulsed excitation.
Users directly program resistances or simulated RTD temperatures.
Unlike competitive products that switch strings of resistors with mechanical relays, the V420 is said to be quiet and reliable and resistance changes are fast and monotonic with no contact bounce or transient switching errors.
The V420 simulates eight two- or four-wire resistive sensors.
Channels are individually programmable in four ranges, from 5ohm to 65.5Kohm and operate from 24V/50mA.
Channels are fully isolated with up to 750V common-mode range with overvoltage protection up to 50V.
The module provides a channel calibration check capability and an optional built-in self-test capability.
