Adlink introduces bus expansion kit

PCIe-to-6U CompactPCI/PXI expansion kit
Adlink Technology has announced the release of the PCIe-to-6U CompactPCI/PXI expansion kit, the latest addition to its line-up of bus expansion products.
The kit includes the PCIe-8560 PCI Express host board, the PXI-8656/6U remote system controller, and an expansion cable.
The PCIe-to-6U CompactPCI/PXI expansion kit is specifically designed for applications with high-density I/O requirements such as telecommunication systems, mass production testing, and military/aerospace by providing direct control of 6U CompactPCI/PXI modules via the high-bandwidth, low-latency PCI Express interface.
'This kit utilises the 2.5Gbps high-speed PCI Express bus to provide over 110MB/s of sustained data transfer rate at distances up to 7m,' said Catherine Wu, senior product director at Adlink.
'It also enables fast detection of any installed cards in the expansion chassis without requiring additional drivers or software installation,' she added.
The PCIe-to-6U CompactPCI/PXI expansion kit supports up to seven devices in a remote 6U CompactPCI/PXI chassis.
The control of the 6U CompactPCI/PXI chassis through the PCIe-8560 PCI Express host board is transparent to software applications and drivers.
All CompactPCI and PXI modules installed in the remote chassis will operate as if they are directly installed in the host system.
Adlink's 15-slot 6U PXI/CompactPCI chassis, PXIS-3320, is also available.
