Advanced Test Equipment Rentals has announced that the Fluke 1550B Megohmmeter test instrument - which is suitable for preventative maintenance - is now available for hire.
The Fluke 1550B is a digital device capable of testing switchgear, motors, generators and cables at up to 5,000VDC.
It can be used for a range of tests, from simple spot checks to timed and breakdown tests.
Measurement storage and PC interface software make it suitable for preventative maintenance.
Heavy-duty leads, probes and alligator clips fit in the custom carrying case, providing a rugged field testing kit.
The 1550B offers: standard test voltages of 250V to 5,000V; measurements up to one tera-ohm; a warning voltage function to alert the user that line voltage is present and to give the voltage reading up to 600VAC/VDC; the automatic calculation of dielectric absorption and polarisation index with no setup; a guard system that eliminates the effect of surface leakage current on high-resistance measurements; a large digital/analogue LCD that delivers detailed measurement data; cable or insulation capacitance measurements; leakage current measurements; a ramp function (0-5,000VDC) for breakdown testing; and Flukeview Forms Basic 1550B software and an optical interface cable for downloading to a Windows PC.
